Global digital distribution service Record Union has struck a deal that will make it straightforward for independent artists to add their works to wawawa, China`s leading online independent music store.
Record Union is a fully online service, with all distribution done directly via their website. By offering all artists simple and efficient distribution to the world`s leading music stores, they hope to remove many of the barriers that have previously existed within digital distribution.
R2G, the company behind wawawa, provides the first centralized music distribution platform in China promoting the consumption and monetization of legitimate digital content through a transparent licensing and monitoring system.
A deal between Record Union and wawawa will open the door for many new independent artists wishing to sell their music on China`s burgeoning music market. At the same time it will also make more international independent music available to the ever hungry and numerous Chinese music consumers.
Daniel Nilsson, Managing Director of Record Union, adds "Providing artists with a diverse range of digital outlets has always been a high priority for Record Union. Partnering with wawawa will provide a unique opportunity for artists using our service to reach out with their music on the Chinese market"
Record Union will deliver their existing catalogue to wawawa later this week.
